Candidate's personal branding is on Google /Facebook/Twitter

Seth Godin, a marketing guru Smart Hiring follows, has an interesting post about his friend’s experience while trying to hire a housekeeper.

When Seth’s friend googled each candidate’s name she got results that helped her take decisions.

Today candidates need to be researched on Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Orkut and other social network sites. Lot of your prospective candidates are blogging and leaving their persona on the www and these internet signatures will help you decide when you hire them.

Like Seth said "Everything you do now ends up in your permanent record…..And Google (for that matter other social networking sites) never forgets."

Employers are keeping a tab on their present employees on social networking sites and punishing those who are ranting about their jobs.
